SEC opens probe into Daktronics-Leonard deal tied to Clippers

The Securities and Exchange Commission has opened an investigation into Daktronics over its dealings with Kawhi Leonard, according to reporter Pablo Torre, who cited comments from the scoreboard maker's CFO on an earnings call.

Daktronics said the SEC is seeking information about the company and Leonard and that it is cooperating.

The probe adds to an existing NBA inquiry into whether Leonard's endorsement deal with Daktronics, which installed the Intuit Dome's video board, was used to skirt the salary cap. Torre reports the investigation could stretch into 2027.
