Sabonis set to stay in Sacramento after trade talks stall

Domantas Sabonis is expected to remain with the Kings after months of trade exploration produced no deal, with team sources saying he is willing to fully recommit to the roster.

Reports say Sacramento came close to sending him to Toronto in a package involving RJ Barrett at February's deadline, but the deal fell apart when the Raptors could not move Jakob Poeltl's contract.

GM Scott Perry also looked into a sign-and-trade centered on Jalen Duren, which Detroit declined, and had unproductive talks with Charlotte and Boston. Sabonis has two years and $94 million left and became extension-eligible in July, though no new contract is being negotiated.
