Sabonis's agent switch fuels talk of a Kings exit

Domantas Sabonis hired CAA agent Aaron Mintz this offseason, the same agent who engineered Trae Young's trade to Washington and Walker Kessler's move to the Lakers, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported on the Hoop Collective podcast.

The Athletic's Anthony Slater added that Mintz also secured both players lucrative new contracts, and that Sacramento has held trade talks on Sabonis with several Eastern Conference teams over the past year without a deal getting done.

Sabonis has two years and over $93 million left on his contract, running through 2027-28, and is extension-eligible, but the Kings reportedly aren't interested in engaging on a new deal.

Slater said Sabonis is recommitting to Sacramento for now, though he suggested the agent change could be aimed at speeding up an eventual move. The Warriors and Raptors have been mentioned as potential suitors, though nothing is close.
