Sabonis pushes for a trade as Charlotte emerges as landing spot

Domantas Sabonis wants out of Sacramento, according to Jake Fischer, who cites Sabonis switching agents this summer as one sign.

Fischer said Toronto had more advanced trade talks with the Kings at last season's deadline, but Charlotte remains in the mix depending on Sacramento's asking price, with talks between the Hornets and Kings continuing as recently as this summer.

A proposed package would send Sabonis to Charlotte for Grayson Allen, Grant Williams, Ryan Kalkbrenner and two future first-round picks. The Hornets' $40.7 million trade exception from the LaMelo Ball deal would let them absorb Sabonis' $45.4 million cap hit without much trouble.

Fischer added that Sacramento won't move Sabonis to Charlotte or anyone else without picks or young talent coming back, having already given up DeMar DeRozan for nothing in a buyout.
