Sabonis dismisses offseason trade buzz as 'made up'

Domantas Sabonis told Eurohoops' Johnny Askounis that the trade chatter swirling around him last offseason was fabricated, saying he leans on Kings GM Scott Perry and his agent rather than social media for information.

NBA insider Jake Fischer had reported in June that Sacramento and Charlotte discussed a Sabonis swap ahead of the draft, calling the talks exploratory.

Fischer and Marc Stein also reported Kings interest in a sign-and-trade sending Sabonis to Detroit for Jalen Duren. Sabonis remains on Sacramento's roster heading into 2026-27 with two years left on his contract.
