Rockets lock in Fred VanVleet on multi-year deal

Rival executives are watching whether Portland could rehab Ja Morant's value before flipping him, Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer said, though his $87M salary and injury history make a deadline deal unlikely.

A trade idea would send De'Aaron Fox to Houston for Fred VanVleet and Jabari Smith Jr., clearing room for Dylan Harper in San Antonio. Another proposal has Myles Turner moving from Milwaukee to the Clippers to open a starting center job for Kel'el Ware.

A proposed swap would send Kyrie Irving to Houston, reuniting him with Kevin Durant under coach Ime Udoka, while Dallas gets Fred VanVleet and Reed Sheppard back.
