Rivals keep watching Kyrie Irving Dallas situation
Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports that rival teams are still monitoring Kyrie Irving's standing with the Mavericks ahead of the February 11 deadline, with Masai Ujiri said to want a look at Irving alongside Cooper Flagg first.
Dallas has said it has no interest in trading him, and Stein notes assistant Phil Handy's departure for Philadelphia as a small factor interested teams have registered, along with the exits of executives Andrew Baker and Makhtar Ndiaye this month.
Irving is owed $39.5 million this season with a $42.4 million player option for 2027-28 and has not played since tearing his ACL in March 2025.
Among five suggested landing spots, Orlando leads the list with a package built around Jalen Suggs and Wendell Carter Jr. Separate speculation carried by Yahoo Sports frames the Irving situation as bad news for the Pistons, with no proposed deal attached.
