Richards expected to land in Miami, leaving Knicks short at center
Nick Richards has agreed to a one-year deal with the Heat, per ESPN, taking Miami's 14th standard roster spot after the Klay Thompson signing and leaving the 15th open.
Jake Fischer had said on his Bleacher Report Insider's Notebook livestream that he expected the move barring a change, citing Miami's long-standing connection to the center, who had been working out at Kaseya Center.
The 28-year-old averaged 9.3 points and 7.6 rebounds in 22 minutes a night for the Bulls last season, slightly below the scoring figure cited earlier, after stops in Charlotte and Phoenix.
The Knicks had considered him as a third center behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond after losing Mitchell Robinson to Boston and seeing Dallas match their offer sheet for Moussa Cisse.
