Redick downplays Kessler's finger, says Sexton has no doubt for opener

Walker Kessler has sat out all three Lakers preseason games with a jammed finger, but coach JJ Redick called it minor and said he'll play before the opener, Khobi Price of the California Post and Lakers reporter Mike Trudell reported.

Redick also said there's no doubt Collin Sexton will be ready for the Oct. 21 opener, according to Jovan Buha. Kessler himself told ESPN's Mike Breen his finger feels good but he's unsure when he'll debut.

Ziaire Williams, Dalton Knecht, Cameron Carr and Arthur Kaluma also missed Thursday's win over Sacramento, though Redick said Williams' soreness isn't a concern.
