Reaves signed richest deal ever for an undrafted player
Austin Reaves agreed to a four-year extension with the Lakers worth roughly $180 million, slightly below the $185 million max offer initially floated, according to ESPN's Vince Goodwill.
Goodwill reports Reaves was surprised by how aggressive the offer was, given he went undrafted out of Oklahoma before signing with Los Angeles in 2021. The modest discount is expected to help the Lakers use their non-taxpayer midlevel exception to chase a star next summer.
