Pritchard, Celtics agree to two-year, $44.2M extension
Payton Pritchard has agreed to a two-year, $44.2 million extension with Boston, according to ESPN's Shams Charania, who cited Pritchard's agents at CAA. ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reports the new money won't begin until 2028-29, keeping him under contract through 2029-30 with a mutual option in that final year.
Pritchard won Sixth Man of the Year in 2024-25 before stepping into a starting role in 2025-26 after injuries opened up bigger minutes. He started 50 games last season and set career highs, averaging 17.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
