Pritchard becomes extension-eligible for $67M on October 1
Payton Pritchard can sign a three-year, $67 million extension with Boston starting October 1, the maximum allowed under the 140% rule tied to his current deal. He is already locked in for two more seasons at $30 million total, so there's no urgency on either side.
An unnamed executive suggested Pritchard could instead bet on a rising salary cap and wait for unrestricted free agency in 2028, when he might command more than Boston can offer now.
