Podziemski extension seen topping out near Christian Braun's $125M deal
Warriors insider Tim Kawakami projects Brandin Podziemski's rookie extension would max out around Christian Braun's five-year, $125 million deal, with a floor just above the $15 million taxpayer midlevel.
Golden State and Podziemski have until October 19 to strike a deal before he heads to restricted free agency. Kawakami noted the Braun contract has soured quickly, with Denver's forward regressing in year one, and argued the Warriors have little reason to approach that number now.
Extending Podziemski would also eat into cap space Golden State hopes to have next summer, partly tied to a possible Stephen Curry extension.
