Pistons may wait until 2026 to talk extension with Ausar Thompson

Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus predicts Detroit will hold off on an Ausar Thompson extension until next summer, pointing to the team's pattern with Jalen Duren, who went unextended last year and remains a restricted free agent.

Pincus argues Thompson's defense-first game, elite as it is, won't command the same urgency as an offensive star's would. Nothing has been offered or discussed publicly, this is purely a projection of Detroit's timeline.
