Pistons' latest Duren offer sits around $180M over five years
Detroit's latest offer for Jalen Duren has risen to about $185 million over five years, roughly $37 million a year, matching Alperen Sengun's deal through 2031.
That's still below Duren's reported ask near $40 million annually, per ESPN's Tim MacMahon on the Hoop Collective. Duren's representatives reportedly want Detroit to raise the offer further, and talks are continuing, according to Sportando.
Duren remains unsigned about a month before camp and could sign a $9.6 million qualifying offer by October 1, setting up unrestricted free agency in 2027. Detroit's restricted rights mean no outside offer can force its hand.
Draymond Green said on his show that Duren should weigh Detroit's stability against bigger money elsewhere, but expects a deal to get done. Separately, the Pistons fully guaranteed backup center Paul Reed's $5.6 million salary for next season, according to Jake Fischer.
