Pincus names Randle as Lakers' top trade target over Nets deal
Sports Illustrated's Sameer Kumar suggested Brooklyn could look to move Julius Randle to trim salary. Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus separately named Randle the Lakers' top trade target, suggesting a package built around Jake LaRavia, Jaden Hardy, Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt.
Randle carries a $33.3 million salary this season and a $35.8 million player option for 2027-28, a number Pincus called problematic for a straight Nets trade. Pincus floated Randle taking a new three-year deal starting around $25 million to make the math work for Los Angeles.
Kumar suggested the Lakers might need a multi-team structure to fit Randle's money given their limited room under the tax apron. Nothing suggests Brooklyn is actively shopping him, and the number of Lakers pieces involved would complicate the Nets' in-season roster limit.
