Peyton Watson, Bennedict Mathurin surface in latest trade chatter
Restricted free agents Peyton Watson and Bennedict Mathurin are both drawing sign-and-trade interest, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports.
Cleveland, Milwaukee, Atlanta and the Clippers have approached Denver about Watson, with the Nuggets asking for at least a first-round pick and one notable player, and no team has met that price yet. The Cavaliers, fresh off missing on LeBron James, could dangle the expiring deals of Max Strus or Dennis Schroder.
On Mathurin, New Orleans, Chicago, Dallas and Milwaukee have told the Clippers they are interested, though Marc Stein reported the Mavericks are not engaged at a serious level and would likely need to move or buy out Klay Thompson to fit him.
