Nuggets give second-rounder Bryce Hopkins a two-way deal

Bryce Hopkins has signed a two-way contract with Denver, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The No. 49 pick averaged 13.6 points and 6.2 rebounds while starting all 37 games at St. John's last season, after earlier stops at Providence and Kentucky. The deal lets him shuttle between the G League and the main roster.

Cam Whitmore has also officially signed a two-way deal with the Nuggets, per the NBA's transaction log. ESPN's Shams Charania first reported the agreement, noting Whitmore had already been working out with Denver players before it came together.

The forward was traded from Houston to Washington last offseason, then dealt to Cleveland last month before the Cavaliers waived him in a roster crunch. This is his final year of two-way eligibility, and it fills Denver's last two-way slot alongside Hopkins and KJ Simpson.
