Nets sign Ziaire Williams

Ziaire Williams told Benjamin Royer of The Southern California News Group he signed a one-year minimum deal with the Lakers because of the fit as a versatile wing, not just because it brought him home to the Los Angeles area.

Lakers Nation podcast host Trevor Lane argued Los Angeles should explore power forward options beyond Ziaire Williams or Adou Thiero, including Herbert Jones and P.J. Washington. He called both unlikely to actually be available but said the Lakers should still check.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said the team could explore a consolidation trade at his season-opening press conference, fueling speculation about the roster.
