Wagner brings disruption, not rim protection, to Brooklyn
Moritz Wagner signed with Brooklyn on a two-year, $19 million deal after leaving Orlando, giving the Nets a veteran backup to Day'Ron Sharpe.
Wagner says he's not a shot-blocker but wants to play an aggressive, disruptive style that fits coach Jordi Fernández's defensive scheme better than Orlando's rim-and-rebound approach did. He'll be replacing some of the departed Nic Claxton's minutes without replicating his rim protection.
