Lakers sign Sandro Mamukelashvili to multi-year deal

Toronto has signed Sandro Mamukelashvili to a multi-year contract. No terms disclosed.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said the team could explore a consolidation trade at his season-opening press conference, fueling speculation about the roster.

Rob Pelinka told reporters the Lakers have 16 guaranteed contracts, one over the regular-season limit, and must resolve it by their Oct. 21 opener against Golden State. He said waiving a player is one option but a consolidation trade sending out two players for one is also under consideration.
