Lakers reclaim Diong's G League rights from Pelicans affiliate

The Lakers have reacquired the returning player rights to center Cheikh Mbacke Diong for their G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers, per the NBA G League Transaction Portal.

The deal sends forward Solomon Young's rights to the Birmingham Squadron, New Orleans' G League team. It's the second time the Lakers have controlled Diong's rights after waiving him earlier, and acquiring them doesn't guarantee he plays for Coachella Valley this season.
