Lakers pushed to grab Peavy if Grizzlies waive him

Memphis is nearly 20 players deep and could waive up to four, including wing Micah Peavy, per NBA insider Jake Fischer. Lakers reporter Chris Lambert of Lake Show Life argues LA should pounce, cutting AK Okereke to hand Peavy his two-way spot.

Lambert calls Peavy an elite perimeter defender who thrives off cuts and screens, projecting well next to Luka Doncic. Peavy averaged just 4.3 points in 15 minutes last season and has only one year of NBA experience, so nothing suggests Memphis has decided to let him go yet.
