Lakers pundit pushes team to call Pelicans on Herbert Jones
Lakers Nation podcast host Trevor Lane argued Los Angeles should explore power forward options beyond Ziaire Williams or Adou Thiero, including Herbert Jones and P.J. Washington. He called both unlikely to actually be available but said the Lakers should still check.
New Orleans reportedly wants two first-round picks for Jones, a price Lane doubted any team would meet. Washington draws more buzz but carries a $73M contract and Dallas' own steep ask.
Fansided's Mat Issa, in an item run by Heavy, floated a deal sending Jarred Vanderbilt, two first-round pick swaps and a second-rounder to New Orleans for Jones.
Issa argued Jones' defensive marks justify his roughly $90 million salary. Nothing indicates the teams have discussed it, and Jones signed an extension just 15 months ago.
