Lakers pitched as Draymond Green suitor to shore up defense
Lake Show Life's Svyatoslav Rovenchuk floated a trade sending Draymond Green to the Lakers, arguing his defense could pair with Walker Kessler and mask Sandro Mamukelashvili's weaker side of the ball. Green re-signed with Golden State this offseason on a one-year, $28 million deal.
Warriors insider Marcus Thompson of The Athletic reported Green could become available near the trade deadline if Golden State struggles. Any deal would require the Lakers to clear enough salary to absorb his contract.
Heavy floated a deal sending Green and Al Horford to Los Angeles for Jarred Vanderbilt, Jaden Hardy, Jake LaRavia and Dalton Knecht. It hinges on Golden State souring on its season and Green's Dec.
15 trade restriction expiring. Green is an unrestricted free agent next summer, and the pitch frames it as the Warriors starting a rebuild rather than seeking immediate value.
