Lakers, Heat, Knicks among teams with holes trade season could fill

A roundup of contenders with roster gaps heading into camp lists the Lakers lacking a starting power forward, with Sandro Mamukelashvili the only bench option at the spot. The Heat need a playmaking point guard beyond backup Davion Mitchell, and efforts to move Nikola Jovic have gone nowhere.

The Knicks are still searching for a backup center after losing Mitchell Robinson, with Miles McBride floated as possible trade bait. Cleveland, Denver, Atlanta and Detroit are also named as teams thin at point guard or in the frontcourt heading into the season.
