Lakers could chase Max Christie in free agency if he opts out
Lake Show Life's Svyatoslav Rovenchuk floated a scenario where Max Christie declines his $8.9 million player option with Dallas for 2027-28 and re-signs with Los Angeles.
The Lakers would need to use money freed up by Austin Reaves and Sandro Mamukelashvili's below-market deals, potentially tapping a midlevel exception worth roughly $16 million.
Rovenchuk also expects Dallas to fight hard to keep Christie given his fit alongside Cooper Flagg. Nothing is close to happening here, it's speculation tied to a hypothetical opt-out over a year away.
