Kuminga said to favor Lakers over Timberwolves as decision nears
Kuminga has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Timberwolves that includes a player option, per ESPN, which credits agent Aaron Turner.
He is expected to step straight into Minnesota's starting five alongside Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert.
Earlier, Jake Fischer said on Bleacher Report that Kuminga appeared to prefer the Lakers, who had the most room to negotiate and were pitching him on starting next to Luka Doncic with the promise of bigger money next year, while Minnesota could only offer the taxpayer mid-level.
A separate report last week had the Lakers and Hawks still talking.
