Knecht and Hardy seen as the Lakers' likeliest trade package
Jonathan Kuminga signed a two-year, $13 million deal in Minnesota, and the Lakers have since been linked to PJ Washington, De'Andre Hunter and Bruce Brown as trade alternatives.
Jacob Rude of Silver Screen and Roll expects Los Angeles to work the trade market rather than sign anyone, with Dalton Knecht ($4.2 million) and Jaden Hardy ($6 million) the likeliest salary to be packaged, most realistically for a backup center rather than the fifth starter the team wanted.
Jarred Vanderbilt's $12.4 million and Jake LaRavia's $6 million are the other movable contracts, and Saddiq Bey has been mentioned as a name in circulation, though not as an obvious starter in Los Angeles.
Should the Lakers cut a player instead, Knecht is the first candidate, as he isn't under contract beyond next season.
