Kings GM watches Ben Simmons work out

Sacramento general manager Scott Perry traveled to Florida to watch Ben Simmons work out, according to Carmichael Dave, who said Simmons was one of several players on Perry's evaluation list.

The private session, dated Wednesday by Fadeaway World rather than Tuesday, drew multiple teams, and Dave said a text from someone in attendance described Simmons as looking "fantastic."

No offer has come of it so far. Simmons, now 30, has not played since 2024-25, when he averaged 5.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 51 games split between Brooklyn and the Clippers, and sat out the entire 2025-26 season while pushing for a comeback.

Silver Screen and Roll's Jacob Rude floated Simmons as a potential fit elsewhere, adding his name to the list of teams reportedly weighing a look at the free agent.
