Justin Minaya closes in on FC Barcelona deal
Barcelona has officially signed forward Justin Minaya to a contract running through June 30, 2028. The club describes the 27-year-old as a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions and provide energy and rebounding.
Minaya spent three seasons on NBA deals with Portland, mostly valued for his defense, before an Exhibit 10 stint with Orlando last fall, appearing in 57 NBA games overall.
He played this past season in the G League with the Osceola Magic, averaging 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds, an update from the 9.1 points first reported.
The move marks his first taste of European pro basketball after four years as a pro. Barcelona reached the Liga ACB finals and made the EuroLeague play-in last season but missed the playoffs.
