Irving scores 17 in first game back from ACL, calf injuries
Kyrie Irving made his first appearance in 19 months Sunday, scoring 17 points in 22 minutes as Dallas beat Houston 132-115 in a preseason game in China. He shot 6-for-13, grabbed two rebounds and added three assists while on an unspecified minutes limit.
Rockets coach Ime Udoka said Irving looked like his normal self, and Mavericks coach Dusty May said his preseason work made it hard to tell he had missed a season. Dallas is hoping to have him ready for the regular-season opener against Houston on Oct. 21.
