Hypothetical swap sends Derrick White to Detroit for Robinson, Holland
A trade proposal from Heavy would send Derrick White to Detroit for Duncan Robinson, Ron Holland II and a 2031 first-round pick, with Boston also getting 2028 and 2030 second-rounders in one version.
Detroit hasn't made the offer and Boston hasn't entertained it; NBA insider Jake Fischer reported last month it would be a surprise if the Celtics moved on from White, calling him beloved within the organization.
Sports Illustrated's John Karalis nonetheless names White, 32 and owed over $32 million, a trade candidate as Boston's second-apron math tightens under Jayson Tatum and Paul George's contracts.
Karalis said he rates White highly and frames the speculation as cap-driven rather than performance-based, adding nothing is imminent but Boston's willingness to trade Jaylen Brown this offseason has stoked doubts about anyone's job security.
