Embiid to Washington, Davis to Philadelphia in one proposed swap

One trade idea has Joel Embiid moving to the Wizards with Anthony Davis and a 2027 second-round pick going the other way. The argument: Davis has already won a title next to LeBron James, now in Philadelphia, while Washington gambles on Embiid's health.

Wizards GM Will Dawkins told SiriusXM NBA Radio in July that Davis "wants to be in D.C., and we're gonna keep him there." Kevin O'Connor reported in July that landing Davis or Kyrie Irving could influence James's decision.

Embiid-for-Davis swap would reunite Davis with LeBron, but is called a long shot

Swapping Joel Embiid for Anthony Davis would put Davis back alongside LeBron James, though the idea is framed as unlikely. The Wizards, by all accounts, have no desire to move Davis, and there are further complications beyond that.
