Heat mailbag weighs Carter pursuit, Larsson extension timing

Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun Sentinel discusses whether Miami should pursue guard Devin Carter after he clears waivers from Sacramento and Atlanta, noting his father Anthony Carter's ties to the franchise.

Winderman says the Heat have roster and cap room for a minimum deal but would sit close to the first apron, urging caution on the 15th spot.

He also argues Miami should try to extend Pelle Larsson now rather than wait for restricted free agency, since his value could rise if his production keeps trending up. A separate piece compares this offseason's Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to the Heat's 2004 deal for Shaquille O'Neal.
