Hawks cut Lamont Butler, guard hits free agency
Atlanta requested waivers on Lamont Butler last week, according to the NBA's transaction log, with Hawks beat reporter Brad Rowland confirming the move. Butler had signed a non-guaranteed training camp deal that likely carried Exhibit 10 terms.
He's now an unrestricted free agent, though he could still be in line for a bonus worth up to $91K if he logs 60 days with the College Park Skyhawks. The undrafted guard averaged 11.4 points and 4.3 assists last season at Kentucky after four years at San Diego State.
