Duren's camp seen as done with Detroit as deadline looms
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Jalen Duren faces three choices before his qualifying offer deadline: sign a five-year, $200 million deal, take a one-year $9.6 million qualifying offer, or do nothing and stay a restricted free agent holdout.
NBA insider Brett Siegel said flatly that "this marriage is over" between Duren and the Pistons, calling the standoff toxic. A weight clause once attached to the $200 million offer has reportedly been dropped from talks.
The Athletic reports Detroit has refused to engage in sign-and-trade talks, with Sacramento and Milwaukee among the teams interested. Pistons GM Trajan Langdon said the team would welcome Duren back whenever he returns.
