Duren-Pistons contract talks still stuck two months into free agency
Jalen Duren remains unsigned as a restricted free agent, with Detroit and his camp still apart on a long-term deal. Detroit's offer is now put at around $190 million over five years, or roughly $35 million a year, while Duren wants at least $200 million, according to The Athletic's Sam Amick and Hunter Patterson.
If no deal is reached, Duren could take a qualifying offer, reported at $9 million by Amick and Patterson and $9.6 million elsewhere, and reach unrestricted free agency in 2027. A sign-and-trade looks unlikely with other teams' books already set.
Warriors forward Draymond Green urged Duren to stay put on his own show, citing Jonathan Kuminga's exit from Golden State as a cautionary example.
ESPN's Anthony Slater named the Sacramento Kings as a possible 2027 landing spot for Duren, and the Pistons have reportedly rejected sign-and-trade offers for Domantas Sabonis.
