Curry in no rush on Warriors extension despite $136.7M eligibility
Stephen Curry became eligible this week for a two-year, $136.7 million max extension under the over-38 rule, but told NBC Sports Bay Area the deal will come on his own timetable.
He reaffirmed he expects to finish his career with the Warriors, dismissing speculation, fueled partly by Klay Thompson's move to Miami, that he could leave, and framed his lack of urgency as scheduling rather than doubt about his future there.
Warriors owner Joe Lacob went further, calling any suggestion Curry could leave "clickbait" and "people making a bunch of crap up." The comments leave Golden State with reassurance but no resolution as it heads into a season with Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody both expected to miss time.
