Buha explains why Lakers let Hachimura walk to the Clippers
Rui Hachimura signed a two-year, $28 million deal with the Clippers after the Lakers declined to retain him. Reporter Jovan Buha said the forward's inconsistent focus and decision-making, not a lack of effort, drove the front office's call, noting coach JJ Redick had clashed with him over it.
Buha added Hachimura was never benched and stayed in the rotation throughout his tenure. Hachimura told Clippers reporter Farbod Esnaashari he was happy with how his Lakers run ended and glad to join the Clippers.
