Clippers' qualifying offer still stands in Mathurin-Pelicans talks
Bennedict Mathurin remains a restricted free agent because the Clippers haven't pulled their qualifying offer, according to Jake Fischer.
The Clippers can't take direct compensation to rescind it under CBA rules, but Fischer notes they could land an asset by joining a multi-team trade built to clear New Orleans the cap room to sign Mathurin. The 24-year-old averaged 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26 games with Los Angeles last season.
