Bulls' Collins, Claxton out of camp as Smith deals with foot soreness
Chicago's frontcourt is banged up heading into the season. Centers Zach Collins (quad) and Nic Claxton (hamstring) have yet to practice in training camp, and Jalen Smith is now nursing left foot soreness, per Chicago Sun-Times' Alissa Hirsh.
Coach Tiago Splitter said the team will likely need to rotate three big men to manage minutes at center.
Elsewhere in the division, Detroit plans to lean more on Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren to ease the load on Cade Cunningham, and newly acquired forward Taurean Prince is drawing praise for his locker-room presence in camp.
