Bruce Brown back in the Lakers' mix as Kuminga talks drag on
Jake Fischer said on Bleacher Report's Insider Notebook livestream that Bruce Brown remains a target for the Lakers, though Jonathan Kuminga has since gone to Minnesota.
Fischer doesn't expect a Denver reunion, noting Philadelphia looked at Brown before signing LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Houston before landing Jae'Sean Tate; in 2023 Brown reportedly turned down a three-year Lakers offer to take a two-year, $40 million deal from Indiana starting at point guard.
Any new deal would likely come at the veteran minimum, but with 16 players on standard contracts and a first-apron hard cap, Los Angeles would still need to trim the roster.
Heavy reports Dalton Knecht and Jaden Hardy are the likeliest cuts, with Jarred Vanderbilt also a candidate to be moved. Philadelphia is floated as a possible landing spot for Bronny James should the Lakers move on from him.
