Cameron Johnson

Boston was among teams showing trade interest in Nuggets forward Cam Johnson this offseason, according to HoopsHype. One hypothetical framework would send Johnson to the Celtics for Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser and a favorable 2030 second-round pick.

Multiple teams pushed Denver to attach draft picks to Cam Johnson in trade talks, according to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post. The Nuggets turned those offers down, viewing Johnson as a legitimate starter rather than a contract to unload.

Denver Post reporter Bennett Durando details how Peyton Watson's split from the Nuggets built over months. Denver bypassed a rookie extension last October, offering no more than $10-12M annually while Watson sought around $14M, and instead extended Christian Braun.

A four-team proposal would sign-and-trade Jalen Duren to Charlotte on a four-year, $160 million deal, with Detroit taking back Myles Turner and Cameron Johnson. Milwaukee would collect Ron Holland II, Duncan Robinson and a 2033 first via the Suns, while Denver picks up Grayson Allen.

Brooklyn traded Cameron Johnson to Denver for Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick, per the official transaction record. The pick is Denver's own. The Nuggets also received a trade exception in the deal. A 2032 first is about as distant as draft compensation gets.
