Dalen Terry and the Warriors have agreed to terms, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported, with NBC Sports Bay Area's Dalton Johnson adding that it is a one-year Exhibit 10 rather than a guaranteed spot.
Golden State topped ESPN's summer forecast on which team is most likely to make a major move, drawing nine panelist points ahead of Detroit's four, with Boston and Houston on three each.
Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz argues Utah should put Lauri Markkanen on the market, with the forward turning 30 next spring and blocking starter minutes for Darryn Peterson or Ace Bailey, and no longer fitting a young core that also includes Keyonte George and Jaren Jackson Jr. Markkanen is coming off a career year at 26.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists, and has three years and $149.5 million left, which Swartz notes will eat less than 28% of next season's cap.
Minnesota agreed with Jonathan Kuminga on a two-year, $13 million deal carrying a player option, Shams Charania reported, to be signed using the $6.1 million taxpayer midlevel exception.
Golden State's pursuit of Trey Murphy is cast as more realistic now that New Orleans is working to add Bennedict Mathurin, which would squeeze the Pelicans' wing minutes alongside Herb Jones and Jordan Poole.
Golden State and Stephen Curry are expected to begin extension talks the moment he becomes eligible on August 29, with ESPN's Anthony Slater reporting both sides want him to stay a Warrior for life.
Kuminga has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Timberwolves that includes a player option, per ESPN, which credits agent Aaron Turner.
Golden State signed Georges Niang to a one-year, $3.9 million deal, filling the team's final roster spot. The 33-year-old forward is a 39.9% career three-point shooter who missed the 2025-26 season recovering from a left foot injury, having previously played for Utah, Philadelphia and Cleveland.
One three-team concept has Jimmy Butler heading to the Hawks with three second-rounders, Jonathan Kuminga, Corey Kispert and Buddy Hield going to Milwaukee with future picks, and Myles Turner plus a 2027 Hawks first arriving in Golden State. The catch on Butler is plain: he is 36 and working back from a torn ACL.
Brandon Williams signed a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Warriors in August, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
