Peyton Watson

Peyton Watson is on his way to the Cavaliers in a deal with the Nuggets, per CBS Sports, which handed out grades on the swap and framed it as Cleveland adding a wing coming off a step forward while questioning what Denver is building around Nikola Jokic.

Peyton Watson would move from Denver to the Cavaliers while Max Strus heads to the Clippers as part of a multiteam trade, according to ESPN. Full details of the deal beyond the two headline names were not specified.

Milwaukee remains interested in a sign-and-trade for restricted free agent Peyton Watson, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reported Thursday, though league sources expect the Bucks to resist parting with a first-round pick as they rebuild their asset base after dealing Giannis Antetokounmpo.

ESPN's Shams Charania reports that Denver is talking with multiple clubs about a sign-and-trade for Peyton Watson, with Cleveland, Milwaukee and the Clippers said to have interest.

Restricted free agents Peyton Watson and Bennedict Mathurin are both drawing sign-and-trade interest, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports.

Denver has a five-year, $70 million offer on the table for Peyton Watson, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic. Matching Oklahoma City's two-year, $12 million offer sheet for Spencer Jones pushed the Nuggets into the second apron, so keeping Watson would require roster shuffling.

Peyton Watson is considering accepting the Nuggets' qualifying offer rather than pursuing a long-term deal now.
